Repeatedly referred to in motoring magazines
as "the best car in the world", the S-Class is both dynamic
and supremely elegant. Exquisite on the eye, technologically advanced,
luxuriously spacious (especially in the long wheelbase version),
and a delight to drive: the S-Class is the ultimate motoring experience.
The legendary 'S' suffix began at a race on the
Nurburgring on 19th June 1927, and established a lead that has
never been relinquished through several different incarnations.
The 'S' originally stood for sport, but is now recognised simply
as the mark of Mercedes-Benz's flagship model. The S-Class has
introduced the world to such firsts as:
- Safety features including the airbag and ESP
- Passenger cell with integral crumple zones
- Keyless driving (Keyless-Go)
